Requirements

Acute Care [Walk-in Clinic] Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform medical procedures as necessary - driver’s medicals, prescription renewals, acute conditions, minor ailments

  • Provide exceptional medical care to a diverse population including students, geriatric, pediatric, and Indigenous communities

  • Prescribe medications and treatments

  • Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations

  • Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals

  • Maintain patient medical records (using EMR)

  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities

  • Adhere to Oak Medical Arts Policies and Procedures

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information

  • Complete other tasks as requested

Chronic Care [Family Medicine] Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop professional rapport and working relationships with patients

  • Perform physical examinations and take patient histories, order/interpret laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures

  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments

  • Create treatment plans in collaboration with other providers and follow up to assess care outcomes

  • Provide exceptional medical care to a diverse population including students, geriatric, pediatric, and Indigenous communities

  • Vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases

  • Perform well-baby assessments, diabetes care, Pap smears, and other routine screening

  • Advise patients and families on healthcare including health promotion, disease, illness, and accident prevention

  • Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health

  • Provide counselling and support to patients and families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues

  • Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals

  • Maintain patient medical records (using EMR)

  • Adhere to Oak Medical Arts Policies and Procedures

  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information

  • Complete other tasks as requested
