Oak Medical Arts is looking for an energetic and passionate Registered Pharmacist to work in our pharmacy locations providing exceptional patient care and working with an amazing team!

Requirements

Key Qualifications

  • Accredited Pharmacy Degree

  • Registered for a full practice license with Ontario College of Pharmacists

  • Demonstrable professional competency

  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Strong clinical, analytical and technical skills

  • Motivated life-long independent learner

  • Experience and keen interest in clinical services and expanded scope

  • Valid First Aid + CPR Certification

  • Practice Liability Insurance


Pharmacy Dispensing Tasks

  • All Kroll functions

  • Receiving phone calls

  • Refill requests, new prescriptions, faxes, unfills, etc.

  • Prescription filling

  • Medsync and autofill

  • Providing patient reports

  • Checking prescriptions, unfills, blister packages, compounds, etc.

  • Keeping accurate profiles and records

  • Adding notes, third party billing, all required documentation (i.e. ministry billing codes) as needed

  • Organizing space and workflow

  • Upholding all documentation and practice standards from OCP

  • Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures governing pharmacy practice

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment

Clinical Pharmacist Services

  • MedsChecks, MedsChecks follow-ups

  • Smoking Cessation

  • Pharmaceutical opinions

  • Extension and Adaptation of prescriptions

  • Vaccinations and injections

  • Patient counseling and education

  • Point-of-care testing

  • Medical Directives where applicable

  • Keeping up to date on expanded scope of practice for pharmacists

  • Open mindedness and willingness to work to full scope

Exceptional Customer service

  • Friendly, fast, efficient and exceptional care to every patient

  • Going above and beyond for our patients

  • Answering phones

  • All till functions

  • Coordinating and setting up deliveries

  • Answering questions

  • Coordinating care between our locations if needed

  • Booking clinical services appointments or other appointments as applicable

Collaboration

  • Professional collaboration with all other healthcare professionals

  • Collaboration within Oak network (amongst sites, divisions, teams)

  • Referrals to other providers within Oak

  • Recognizing the benefit of a collaborative, multidisciplinary and team-based approach to patient care

Inventory Management

  • Managing drug orders

  • Narc counts and inventory counts

  • Return to stock, managing expired products, etc.

  • All require documentation and reporting for maintenance of inventory

  • Managing minimum and maximum in Kroll drug cards

  • McKesson (sending and receiving orders, looking up prices, reports, etc.)

Teamwork

  • Understanding the scope of all other pharmacy team members, including assistants and technicians, and employing delegation and teamwork whenever possible to allow for optimal workflow and efficiency

  • Work together with other managers with open communication and collaboration

  • Work with senior management to achieve overall best operation, growth, care and environment for all staff and patients

Growth

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to be involved in growth opportunities - whether within the business, the pharmacy or practice

  • Provide and receive guidance

  • Identify opportunities for expanded scope, new services, gaps in care, partnerships within the community, etc.

  • Personal reflection and assessment of key competencies and areas for development

  • Working with other managers, and with senior management to continue to learn and develop

  • Complete required Continuing Education credits for OCP licensing and registration annually
